Arm balancing is powerful, fierce, funny, and fun!
While arm balances can seem challenging, each one can be broken down into stages and the foundational pieces are available to everyone who has a movement practice (if you're reading this, this means you!).
In this 2 hour workshop, you’ll learn foundational movements for solid arm balances, basic principles behind creating lift, and stages leading toward multiple arm balances. We'll start with a 20 -30 minute yoga warm-up and then take on one arm balance at a time. We'll start by talking through how the arm balance works, ways to prepare, and demo different stages leading up to the full balance. Then, you'll have the opportunity to work on your own and with partners to work toward whichever stage feels right for you.
Limited prior experience with yoga will be helpful. Participants should be able to hold the top of a push-up position for 30 seconds. Bring a yoga mat, water, and curiosity!
